Communication and Notification
The KOJA system has many means of communicating with the outside world in case of regular operational activities or during extraordinary events. Such communication means mainly include:
- Line-based – telephony, intercom systems, doorphones.
- Radio – radio stations, mobile devices, Lone worker or Man down devices.
- Public address – local, facility-wide, evacuation.
- Visual – messages (e.g., SMS, email, notifications), overview applications, text LED panels, KOJA info panels.
For connecting other communication devices, we use our own elements called KOJA PI units. These units use the TCP/IP protocol for mutual communication and create an audio matrix. The transmission of audio information (voice modulation, sound recordings, voice synthesis) takes place through so-called Multicast or Unicast communication.

Main features of KOJA communication and notification elements:
- Situation Visualization – we display visual information from simple data messages to complex overview tools for crisis teams dealing with extraordinary events.
- Distributed Audio Architecture – the PI unit connects directly to end devices, and thanks to TCP/IP communication, communication devices can be included in audio communication that are located directly at the dispatch center, distributed throughout the company premises, or even outside them.
- Control and Internal Connections – the operator has control and communication elements concentrated in a control touch console. KOJA software allows, through the application server, setting logical connections for automated communication and notification.
- Backup Operation – in case of a failure of the control touch console or relevant software services on the application server, the KOJA system has a backup control interface for activating emergency communication channels.
